I guess it's kind of ironic that it is on this post I would comment that I miss you and your posts.
Being alone is easier for some people than others. As an introvert, going to a movie or a play by myself doesn't take practice and doesn't feel awkward. And too much of it could be a slippery slope into being aloof from society which isn't good either....?
